¶BASICS
Wiki🔗Kranj is Wiki🔗Slovenia's 3rd biggest town.
It's situated just south of the Alps, and 40km from the border with Austria. About 50.000 people live here.
It's a short train away from Ljubljana (2.5€ / 30min), the capital city:
However, public transport is non-existing between around 0:00-05:00 which is shit.
That makes the distances kind of like London / Berlin / Paris -like, but with zero night lines.
The old town is situated on a rock between two canyon rivers - Sava and Kokra.
Due to a focus on advanced manufacturing, it was sometimes referred to as "Yugoslavia's Manchester". There is still a strong telecommunications, IT and electronics/mechatronics presence here.
